Are you looking for a producer, production company, or agent for your screenplay?  Are you interested in co-production or seeking connections with film distributors, directors, casting agents, or entertainment lawyers?  Do you want to sell film rights to your book or life story?  This is the same service as the ScreenplayWritersConnection -- we have added a new name and Website to reflect our expansion, since we now assist all kinds of clients connect with the film industry.  We are now a division of Making Connections, with operations in Santa Monica and headquarters in Oakland, California.

We can help with our submission service that will connect you with film industry people via e-mail or in some cases postal mail.  This service includes guidelines on writing an effective query and a review of your letter before it goes out to be sure you are sending out a good letter.  Here's a more detailed description of how the process works.

We have about 2600 contacts in our producer/agent databases -- about 1700 producers and production companies and 900 agents and managers.  Plus now we have five new databases -- about 500 film distributors, 4000+ film and TV directors, 100 casting directors, 200 entertainment lawyers, and 250 film festival contacts.

We have clients all over the world, and recent Founder and Creative Director Gini Graham Scott received an award from the U.S. government's Commercial Service for these clients.  It's a highly prestigious Export Achievement Certificate and it was presented at a Film Fair Gala which we organized that included top political and business leaders from Oakland, Alameda County, and the SF Bay Area.  You can see five pages of photos from this event.

Besides helping clients write a great query that will GET READ, we now have a 60-page booklet -- Sell Your Book, Script or Column -- based on working on over 1000 queries for clients in the past 5 years.  It includes tips on how to contact producers, agents, and publishers, how to write a good query, what you need to follow-up effectively, and sample letters.  It's only $10 -- and you can apply the purchase price to your next order, so it's FREE!  Click here for details.  Or if you prefer, buy a paperback copy through AMAZON or iUniverse.

While you can gather names and contact information and send your own
e-mail queries or letters, we save you many hours of doing your own research.  Plus our letter review can make all the difference in whether your query is read and attracts interest.

We send out your queries under your own e-mail or send you a file of letters and envelopes or labels to print out on your letterhead and mail yourself.   We offer both approaches, since some industry people still prefer or require mail queries, and some do not make their e-mails available.

We differ from other screenplay query services in several ways:

  • We send you a report of the companies contacted and the names of the contacts.

  • We have a larger database.

  • We personally review and give you feedback on all query letters we send out, and can write your letter for you.

  • We offer a postal query service to companies that are not receptive to e-mails, though almost all clients send e-queries.

  • Our database includes agents and managers of actors, actresses, and directors.

We additionally provide tips on how to write a good query letter and how to follow-up to interested film industry contacts.  Or we can write the query letter for you.

You can see the enthusiastic responses of over three dozen clients, including a literary agent who has used our service several times in our kudos section.   Plus learn about recent success stories.  Just go to latest news.  If you'd like to get a free article on how to write a good e-mail query, go to our sign-up page and send us your e-mail.

We're a spin-off of Publishers And Agents.net, which offers similar services to connect writers of books, articles, and columns with editors, publishers, agents, and syndicate services.  Publishers and Agents was featured in a story in the Wall Street Journal on using e-mail queries. We have recently added five new query services:

  • anyone with anything to promote to the media through the NewsMediaConnection

  • a service to connect entrepreneurs with venture capitalists through the VentureCapitalConnection

  • a service to connect songwriters with music publishers, record labels, agents, and managers through the SongwritingConnection

  • a service to connect game and toy inventors with game and toy manufacturers and licensing agents at the
    GameandToyConnection

  • a service to connect speakers and anyone with a story to tell with speaker bureaus and meeting planners through the NewsMediaConnection -- and it will shortly have it's own Website at www.speakersconnection.biz.

We also have an associate who provides connections to newspaper lifestyle and feature editors for promoting anything.  Send us an e-mail for a personal referral.

You can see more news about our clients and company in our PR & Media section, which features press releases and clips.  Creative Director Gini Graham Scott is actively involved in the Bay Area writing and film community and was two-time panelist at the Oakland International Film Festival on "Getting Your Script Produced" and "Making Connections in the Film Industry".  She has gained interest in several scripts and TV projects using this service herself, including a television show project Do You Look Like Your Dog?, a documentary Homicide by the Rich and Famous, and a screenplay Rich and Dead expected to begin filming in the fall of 2008 by Mega Productions.
